Sometimes in life we look at people and stand in awe of how they just cope with difficult circumstances. They seem to be joyful by choice. We can’t always choose our circumstances in life, but we surely choose how we react to them. Matt 5 v 5: "Blessed (happy, joyous, spiritually prosperous – with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favour and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering) for they shall inherit the earth!"(Amplified) I take it then when we are complaining, looking around wondering why we don’t have what others do, we are not operating in meekness. Especially when we lack patience to wait for God’s perfect timing. Some of us also feel we have suffered for long enough and that God has forgotten about us. If only we could manage to experience true life-joy while waiting for God’s answers, no matter what our conditions, we shall inherit the earth! True peace comes from living closer to God, not from earthly goods. Are we chasing God’s way of happiness, or our own? We need to think different to the world. Sometimes we will even have to act totally the opposite from what the world would expect from us. That is the difference.
