The city to tighten rules on the use of parks during festive season

It has come to our attention that picnic-goers who used Naval Park and Orchid Park on Monday, 16 December 2013, left the neighbourhood and owners of property in the area unhappy.

This was following the high-levels of noise, careless parking and some relieving themselves adjacent to private properties.

As the city, we are aware that the ablution facilities that are currently in our parks may not be enough for the volumes of people flocking to the various parks.

We will be augmenting those parks with mobile ablution facilities.

We urge patrons to use these facilities responsibly, and in a way that the next person would be able to use them as well.

As the city we are concerned about the privacy of our residents, and that must be respected.
