Thabo Manyoni resigns from Parliament

Free State Member of Parliament and former Mangaung Metro Executive Mayor, Thabo Manyoni, has resigned from parliament after he was sworn in as an MP less than a year ago.
Manyoni, who confirmed that he resigned during parliament recess will, however, not be redeployed to the Free State Provincial Legislature. According to Neels van Rooyen, ANC Chief Whip in the Free State Legislature, rumours of Manyoni’s redeployment to the Free State Legislature are not true.
Manyoni did not want give details of his future plans.
Manyoni and Brian Molefe, former CEO of Eskom, are the latest of seven MPs who resigned from parliament recently.
Molefe resigned after only three months in parliament. He resigned from the parastatal in the beginning of the year after a damning Public Protector’s report. – Cathy Dlodlo
