Langa Mokgorosi, a Botshabelo resident, proved that he is a force to be reckoned with in the bodybuilding fraternity. Mokgorosi has recently been announced as the big winner at the Thaba Nchu Bodybuilding competition held at Fitness Action Gym on 24 September in Selosesha.

Mokgorosi told Bloemfontein Courant that he started bodybuilding in 2010. “A year later I entered an amateur bodybuilding competition, where I took second position. I realised with this sport I can keep my body healthy. In 2012 I went on to compete at the ISBB junior competition, which was tough, and I only claimed sixth position. I was disappointed by that, but it motivated me to train even more,” he said.

“My aim was to win and in 2013 I took a gap year to focus on my training and to gain more muscle. In 2014 I came second during the NABA bodybuilding competition and in 2015 I was crowned Mr Botshabelo at a Mangaung bodybuilding competition.”

A year later he lost the title to someone else, however he is currently working on gaining it back. “It was an interesting competition, I must say. I am very happy to have won, this is great preparation for Mr Botshabelo, which will be held at H-section Community Hall.”
Mokgorosi encouraged other youth to go to the gym to keep their bodies healthy and to shy away from an unhealthy lifestyle.

“I won the competition because I was stronger than my competitors on that day and with discipline, commitment and hard work, I believe I can achieve more,” he concluded. – Lebakeng Nkabi
