Thaba Nchu police search for suspect(s) of gruesome murder

The police in Mangaung are looking for the suspect(s) who were involved in a murder case that took place at an open field, near the Ragogo Dam, in Thaba Nchu on 9 June 2024. According to a statement released by the Free State SAPS, a vehicle tracking company was alerted by an alarm after tampering with a system and immediately responded to the coordinates given.

“It is alleged that the responder arrived at the scene at about 09:55 and found a Kia 1Tonner mini truck engulfed in flames. On closer inspection, the responder noticed two bodies burning at the back of the truck.

He immediately called for assistance. Fire and Rescue Services, as well as the police, arrived,” spokesperson Thabo Covane mentioned.

The fire was extinguished, and the police then noticed that the two charred bodies were tied with cables and wires. Members of the Local Criminal Records Centre arrived to process the scene. A 9mm cartridge was collected as evidence.

“Emergency Health Services personnel declared the two victims dead. Cases of murder were opened at the Thaba Nchu Police Station,” Covane concluded.

Any member of the public who might have information that can help in the investigation of the case or lead to the arrest(s) of the suspect(s) is requested to contact Sergeant Mpisane Bucibo at 082-466-7255. Alternatively, the information can be submitted on the MySAPS App, or call the SAPS Crime Stop number: 08600 10111.
