A young sports fan was allegedly attacked by knife-wielding men at a local takeaway outlet in Willows. Clayton Beyers just came from a rugby match to get a bite to eat when a group of about five men attacked him, resulting in a knee injury and torn shirt.
According to Beyers, the violent incident took place after interacting with an old school mate. “One of the girls I know from school greeted me. Her boyfriend got angry and threw her bag in her face. I decided to go and ask for his forgiveness as he walked out,” he said.
“He had four friends with him who started to curse at me and then one of them punched me against my chest,” said Beyers.
He claims that each of the men had knives and proceeded to chase him inside the shop. “I decided to jump over the counter just for survival. They came to the back where I tried to ask the manager for help. He said to me it was unsafe for his staff,” he explained.
Beyers added that he was kicked in the face before he managed to make away with a torn shirt, an injured knee and thumb. He explained that he would be opening a police case today as some of the attackers are known to him.
