Talent Dube (29) and Audible Maphosa (36) were allegedly arrested in possession of an unlicensed firearm and reported stolen goods. This came about when Mmakau SAPS Detectives apprehended the suspects on 21 January 2020 at zone 4, in the township of Ga-Rankuwa, at about 10:00.
According to the SAPS spokesperson, Sam Tselanyana, the police found electrical appliances, cutlery and a crowbar that might have been used to break into houses. The community of Mmakau believes the suspects are responsible for a series of break-ins that occurred during December 2019.
Police urge the community who lost property during the burglaries to come to the station with proof of ownership or alternatively contact the police station. The suspects’ case has been remanded until Thursday 30 January 2020 for further investigations and bail application.
