Suspect arrested for dealing in dagga and for bribery

During a patrol conducted by members of Visible Policing Unit and Support personnel of the Heidedal Police Station on 28 March, a suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and for bribery.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Thabo Covane, the Support Commander, Captain Masolane and Sergeant Mokgothing (FLASH) spotted a vehicle at an identified alleged drug post in Ashbury while patrolling around 12:00, and they stopped it. “The members approached the vehicle and asked for permission from the driver to search the vehicle, which he granted.”

Covane explained that upon searching the vehicle, they found dagga. “The 36-year-old male then attempted to bribe the police with R100 for his release. The suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and bribery.”

The suspect will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 30 March.
