Suspect arrested for conspiracy to commit murder in Bfn


A 46-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 29 July, where he will be facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and extortion.

The man was arrested on Tuesday, 27 July, in Bloemfontein by the Hawks’ serious organised crime investigation team.

According to a police statement, the arrest originates from an incident that took place on Friday, 23 July, where the victim was notified by an unknown person that had been hired to murder him. The hired assassin instead asked for R5000 cash in order to divulge details of the people who had hired him.

The matter was reported to the Hawks’ serious organised crime investigation team, resulting in the suspect being arrested after he had received the agreed amount at the Mimosa mall.’
