The Moteline School of Dance, in partnership with Mangaung Shine Banyane Sports Club, staged the second Botshabelo Dance Competition at Botshabelo H Hall on Saturday 13 October 2018.

The successful competition started with an emotional tribute to a dance couple who were part of the 14 finalists selected last year to compete at the national competition in Sun City, but were involved in a fatal accident, which claimed both their lives.

Four couples, Karabo Sedibe and Nthabeleng Mokaeane, Tshepiso Nyokong and Tebello Mafowa, Tumelo Ralekoala and Disemelo Mahabe, Katleho Ralekoala and Naledi Pitso were selected to represent the province at the Dance National Competition to be held in Port Elizabeth from 13-15 December 2018.

“I would like to thank Mangaung Shine Banyane Sports Club, Free State Art and Culture Association, Mangaung Metro Municipality and Botshabelo Sports Council for their generous support to develop dance in Botshabelo. I am very excited about the standard of dance displayed today,” said Tumelo Motloung, head of dance in Botshabelo.

“Congratulations to the winners and to those couples selected to represent our province in Port Elizabeth. I believe they will bring something back for us,” said Paseka Motapane, chairperson of the Botshabelo Sport and Recreation Council.
