No damages of property have been reported and no arrests were made so far. It is also alleged that some students from the Central University of Technology (CUT) joined the protests in support of TOSA students.
According to Paballo Nhlapo, student leader and Sasco Branch Executive Committee (BEC) Coordinator, today will entail sorting out section 4 from the side of Sasco as the EFF student command has already applied for theirs.
He further stated that they are waiting for Nehawu who will also be part of the strike. Nhlapo also shared that lecturers who are members of Nehawu have also applied for a strike to table their grievances.
A meeting between Sasco, the EFF Student Management, Nehawu and other concerned organisations on campus will be held today. These unions stated that they are looking to form a unified force and fight ignorance and injustice that is taking place.
