Police have recovered eighteen calves and four stolen cows before they were even reported stolen by the owner.
While doing their normal patrolling during last week, police received a tip-off about stolen stock that was allegedly being kept at Klipbult Farm near Brandfort. Police then followed up on the tip-off.
“Upon arrival at the mentioned place where the goods were stored, police found a vehicle with a trailer with four cows to the estimated value of R32 000, the calves were also found hidden at a nearby field with two suspects looking after the livestock,” said police spokesperson, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele.
The two suspects, aged 34 and 59 years old, were arrested immediately and will be appearing at the Brandfort Magistrate’s court facing charges of possession of suspected stolen stock.
