The South African State Theatre’s Education, Youth and Children Theatre (EYCT) has issued a call for South African young people to apply for participation in the annual Youth Expressions Festival which will take place during Youth Month in 2024.

Applications are open for young arts practitioners in South Africa to submit their work alongside proposals.

Proposals for the following categories are being considered:

1. Children’s Theatre
2. Drama
3. Musical Theatre
4. Music
5. Poetry
6. Visual Arts

All proposals have to fulfill the following criteria:

1. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 in 2024.
2. Motivation letter of proposed production’s relevance, impact, and meaning.
3. The creative team’s information, including biographies and contact details.
4. A detailed production synopsis.
5. A narrative treatment of the production.
6. Visual artists must submit a recent portfolio of work.

Proposals can be submitted to eyct@statetheatre.co.za and are due by Sunday 17 September.
