State satisfied with alleged right-wingers’ bail outcome

The state is satisfied with the bail results in the case of the four alleged right-wingers who appeared in the Bloemfontein regional court today.

Mark Trollip, Martin Keevy and Johan Prinsloo were denied bail, while their co-accused, Hein Boonzaaier, was granted bail of R80 000.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, says while the state wanted to have Boonzaaier incarcerated until the hearing, they respect the court’s decision.

Trollip, Keevy, Prinsloo and Boonzaaier face charges of high treason and conspiracy to engage in terrorist activities after allegedly plotting to kill ANC leaders during the party’s elective conference in Mangaung in December.

The case has been postponed until 25 March.
