Standard Bank is the proud sponsor of Bloemfontein Courant Schools Edition this year. According to the Retail and Business Banking Head (Central Free State), Brendan Jacobs, it is a great privilege for Standard Bank to showcase schools and individuals that have excelled in the past quarter.
According to Jacobs, Standard Bank has decentralised many of its structures and leadership teams to ensure it is more visible and relevant within the communities in which it operates. “As such we welcome our scholars, students, schools, parents and teachers to engage us where we can be of support and offer banking and financial solutions as showcased in this publication,” Jacobs added. Standard Bank has various points of representation in the broader Mangaung area. Each of these outlets have adopted a school to support and be truly involved in the community of Bloemfontein. In an interview with Bloemfontein Courant Jacobs had the following message for scholars:
“My message to the kids is that even though you are young, your financial life lies ahead of you and it is important to start being aware and to start planning for your financial future. We would like to be a part of that journey and have various solutions for young people that we can discuss with them. We also have a dedicated team that goes out to schools to discuss these solutions with the scholars which we can arrange with the various schools at their convenience.”
