South African Security Forces Union holds discussions

The South African Security Forces Union (SASFU)will host a briefing in Bloemfontein today ,where discussions will be heard surrounding matters that deal with conditions of service for South African National Defence Force employees.

National Convener for SASFU Puseletso Molise says this briefing will bring into light matters like medical benefits and other dire issues many defence force employees are faced with.

Molise further says currently, due to the tendering system within the defence force, their medical services have become very poor. The military clinics no longer render credible service to workers because of no funding to purchase medication.

He adds that the doctors working in some military clinics are not qualified but are just medical officers and don’t have capability of intensive care specialities.

Some other issues to be discussed include Housing Question, Minister of Defence Disregard of rule of law and the Constitution, a closure and remuneration for CAR Victims and their families and climate for bargaining rights within Department of Defence.
