A series of soccer clinics to be held by Worth the Kicks, will specifically be aimed at improving excellence amongst young players in Bloemfontein.
The first in the series will kick-off at Brebner Primary School’s soccer fields on Saturday 14 May from 12:00 to 15:00. According to Worth the Kicks’ Sharad Pietersen the focus will be on speed, agility and endurance.
“Our mission is to develop and manage an institution that will serve as a home for the soccer loving youth of Mangaung. We want to instil excellence in the young boys and girls in Mangaung by providing emotional, intellectual, vocational and physical support. In doing so, we hope to put them on a path to achieve their dreams of becoming successful soccer players, coaches and administrators,” said Pietersen.
Saturday’s clinic will cater for U/9, U/11 and U/13 players. It will be three hours of intense training that will cover the following:
Physical training (strength, power, endurance, mobility, stability and recovery)
Technical training (passing, tackling, ball control, possession, positioning, finishing)
Tactical training (set pieces, formations, attacking routines, defensive manoeuvre)
For registration, contact Pietersen on 079 198 4167. Application forms for registration are available on request. A fee of R100 per player applies.
