Six teenage boys, aged between 16 and 19, were arrested for murder in the Somerspost Street, Zamdela, in the Free State.
According to police spokesperson Josephine Rani, on Sunday 12 May at around 00:30, the Zamdela police received a complaint about an unknown male who was assaulted and left lying on the ground at a house in Somerspos.
“The police proceeded to the identified house, and on arrival, they found a 25-year-old male lying on the ground motionless. The deceased sustained head injuries and was declared dead by the emergency services” said Rani.
She added that there was no lead as to who the suspects were and through thorough investigation, the police received information on the whereabouts of the suspects.
“The police followed the information, and all six suspects were found at a shack in Somerspos and arrested. The suspects will appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court today on the murder charges.”
