The opportunity to be scouted for a national competition in October at Carnival City, Johannesburg, is just a few days away. Let’s Talent, in association with Cansa Socialite and Cansa, will host a talent scout for singers, dancers, actors and models to help form a platform for local talent to be seen as well as to raise funds for cancer this Saturday.
Bloemfontein business women Anri Powell, Janice Christians and Yolande Macalagh have joined hands to create this talent scout for all residents of Bloemfontein. They want to help contestants achieve their goals and expose them to the bigger industry nationwide. Let’s Talent was founded four years ago by Powell and Christians, who have been working non stop to help develop local talent. They have decided to join hands with Macalagh to bring the competition to Heidedal this year. According to Powell, Saturday’s competition is open for all talented residents of Bloemfontein. “We feel people need to start knowing that the Heidedal community is such a strong one and has so much to offer,” said Powell.
The competition is one of the prelims for the national Cansa Socialite competition. Powell and Christians felt that Bloemfontein does not have a lot of talent showcasing competitions and they wanted to bring something different to the table.
Registrations are open from 14:00 till 15:00 at Petunia High School in Heidedal where the competition will be held from 15:00 till 18:00. Registration fee is R50 and all talent acts are welcome. – Pierce van Heerden
