Shooting spree in FS kills four

On Monday, 30 August, four armed men allegedly entered a house at New Stands, Thabong, in the Free State and killed four family members.

According to Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, the police in Thabong are currently looking for the suspects implicated in the murder.

“Without a warning, the suspects fired random shots at the family inside the house and four of them were killed. That is a 59-year-old woman, 31-year-old woman, 23-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl,” said Makhele. “Two boys, aged six and nine, managed to escape and alert the neighbours,” he explained.

The police are unaware of the motive for this gruesome killing and a manhunt has been launched to trace these killers.

“Anyone with information that can lead to the arrests of suspects should please contact Detective-Constable Keke Sithole of Thabong Serious and Violent Crime at 060 985 9276 or call Crime Stop at 08600 10111; alternatively, send information via MySAPS App,” Makhele concluded.
