On Thursday (29/8), President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation by responding to questions in the National Assembly.
During the session, President Ramaphosa is set to inform Parliament about the government’s efforts to stimulate private sector investment in ports, railways, and other infrastructure as part of its strategy to boost economic growth.
“This will also include expansion of access to agricultural markets for small-scale and emerging farmers as productive sectors of the economy,” the Presidency said in a statement.
“The President will reflect on the alignment of South Africa’s foreign policy with the needs of the African continent and steps being taken to ensure that South Africa continues to contribute to promoting African unity and self-determination.”
Additionally, the session will cover international issues, including efforts to combat the illicit trade of illegal substances.
The President will also provide updates on the development and strategic objectives of the Sovereign Wealth Fund, as well as the progress being made in constructing housing for residents of Alexandra.
