This comes after the Minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini, announced that the payments for December will be paid from the 28th of November until the 15th of December.
According to North West Sassa Regional Executive Manager, Zodwa Mvulane, this is to help beneficiaries plan their festive season budget and to ensure that they do not become victims of crime.
“We want to protect them from criminal activities that often happen during the December period when a number of people do their last Christmas shopping. We have also tightened our security at all payments point to ensure that they do not get robbed” she said.
Mvulane mentioned that in January beneficiaries will, however, receive their payments during the normal payment dates and urges beneficiaries to use their festive payment sparingly. Mvulane advised beneficiaries to keep their payment cards and pin codes safe.
