The alleged SABC intruder, Mokheseng Jafta Mofokeng, has finally made an appearance before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, after his long stay in hospital.
OFM News reports, Mofokeng’s case has been postponed twice in his absence, however, on Tuesday he was in court and it was postponed to 15 February for a formal bail application. He faces charges of business burglary, trespassing, malicious damage to property, and intimidation for breaking into the SABC’s premises. It is alleged he was shot and injured during the scuffle with security officers.
OFM News previously reported that the outcome of today’s court sitting will depend on whether Mofokeng is discharged from hospital or not. Should he still be in hospital, the case will be postponed once more.
It is alleged that on 16 January, one of the security officers that were on duty saw the suspect on security camera footage. It is further alleged security officers went to investigate the apparent security breach and were allegedly attacked by the suspect, which led to his injury.
