SA records 1, 429 new cases, with 15,388 healthcare workers vaccinated

As of Sunday, South Africa has recorded a total of 1 503 795 positive cases of Covid-19, with 1, 429 new cases confirmed since the last report.

113 new deaths have also been confirmed: two from Eastern Cape,12 from Free State, 17 from Gauteng, one from KwaZulu-Natal, 69 from North West, two from Northern Cape and 10 from Western Cape. This brings the total number of deaths to 49,053.

“We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and that the healthcare workers who treated the deceased patients,” said Health Minister Zweli Mkhize.

The number of health care workers who have been vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 15,388 as of Sunday.
