SA government needs to worry about terrorist threat – Solomon

The South African government, it would seem, functions in crisis mode, and this has UFS political analyst, prof. Hussein Solomon, worried.

He was speaking to Courant after the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday, for which ISIS has claimed responsibility, and says he hopes the ANC government does not wait until attacks hit the country, but instead be proactive.

He says a month ago the American Embassy issued a statement, saying they’ve increased their press alert because they have credible intelligence that American interests will be targeted in South Africa.

Hussein leaves for the United States in the morning where he will, among others, be part of panel discussions on terrorism.- Owen Kock
