Robbery at Bfn bank: Four suspects sought

The police are on the lookout for four suspects in connection with an armed robbery at a bank in Bloemfontein this afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Sam Makhele, says the police in the area were alerted to the robbery just after 13:00. He says four armed suspects approached a cash-in-transit vehicle in front of the Standard Bank branch in Charlotte Maxeke Street, and held one of the security guards at gunpoint.
It is still unclear whether any shots were fired and if the security guards were injured. Makhele says a search party has already been deployed to trace the four suspects travelling in a silver Mercedes Benz. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Details of the robbery are still sketchy and the police are trying to gather more information. The traffic was also held up due to the robbery, but all roads leading into Charlotte Maxeke has since been cleared. – Josca Human, OFM News
