The Rhapsody Orchestra is set to captivate audiences with its third concert of the 2024 season, “Rhapsody Re-Imagined”, on Saturday 31 August at 19:00 at St. Michael’s Chapel.

Under the baton of musical director Heinrich Lategan, the concert will feature a blend of beloved classical works and performances by smaller ensembles within the orchestra.

According to Diandra Steenekamp, the orchestra manager, the programme includes Haydn’s Symphony No. 101, “The Clock”, and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, showcasing the orchestra’s range and skill.

Additionally, the woodwind section will present Dvoák’s Wind Serenade, while the flute section will perform Quantz’s Sonata in D Major.

A special highlight is the premiere of two solo piano works by orchestra member Karen Junqueira.

“This concert is designed to appeal to both seasoned classical music lovers and those experiencing orchestral music for the first time,” said Steenekamp.

Tickets are R100 for adults and R50 for concessions, available at the door or online at www.quicket. co.za.
