Residents urged to pay municipal accounts


Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM) will be intensifying the disconnection of services to residential properties, business and government that are in arrears with their municipal accounts or that are not serving their debt.

According to a statement by the MMM, municipal account holders who need to enter into a payment arrangement with the City or sign an acknowledgement of debt agreement, may send their requests to the following email address: or They may also contact 051-405-8145 or 051-405-8527; or visit their nearest Customer Service Centre across the City’s regions.

The City is now offering ratepayers credit control assistance with conditions that includes a 100% waiver of interest previously charged should the account holder choose to settle in full.  “Residents are encouraged to take pre-termination notices issued seriously and make use of the credit control assistance as offered by the Municipality to avoid [services] cut offs,” reads the statement.

All municipal account holders are encouraged to make use of the online Account Balance Check APP on the MMM website at  Account holders are also able to settle and pay their account online, instructions are provided on the APP and website.
