Reitz four incident workers making progress

LERATO LELIA

The Reitz four incident victims turned business owners, are now fully fledged and independent after launching their company Mamello Trading in June this year. This is according to the UFS’s vice-rector for external affairs, Choice Makhetha, who says the five colleagues are making good progress.

“Their company is doing well. They have a four-year contract with the university to clean the South Campus. I was there last month, in August, and I got feedback from the people who supervise all the contracts that we have. Nobody is complaining about their services as a company. So they are going well and from the university side I can say we have covered every aspect that we needed to cover as the university,” said Makhetha.

Makhetha added that the University will continue to monitor and support the workers throughout the four years of their contract with the university. They have been assisted with workshops on tender processes in order to be able to tender for other contracts beyond the university.
