Reduced water pressure in Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu

The Manguang Metropolitan Municipality has issued a notice warning residents in Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu about reduced water pressure as a result of a decline in catchment water quality.

According to MMM this has been made evident by a significant reduction in water clarity (high suspended solids loading).

“As a result, this has necessitated an increased frequency of the clearing sludge and filter backwashing at the treatment facility, which is impacting operational storage levels at the Lesaka reservoirs,” MMM explained.

Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly to assist as reservoir levels stabilise.
