The beauties of Random Modelling Agency are taking to the streets this coming Saturday, 23 March, to do their part for charity. The team has decided to have their own Street Mall in front of Lee Marco Centre in Heidedal. The founder and managing director, Beauchachia Hurst, told Bloemfontein Courant that the street mall idea is something she wanted to do three years ago and at the time the idea was to get clothes from clothing stores. Which were damaged but still in good shape. However, she said, the time was never right but this year at their fundraising braai day she saw the need in the community for such an initiative.
Hurst explained that she spoke to her team and asked them how they felt about it and if they would be able to bring clothes that are no longer of use to them and their families.
“They were excited to be on board with such an initiative and planning started right away,” she told Bloemfontein Courant.
She said that as people walk past, they would identify those who are in need and invite them to come and shop for free, for a few items they like and that fit them.
“We will open at 09:00 in front of Lee Marco Centre. We will also have soup and bread for the people who come,” said Hurst. – SAZLY HARTZENBERG
