Farmers can start cultivating the land as more rain is expected in the central parts of South Africa, says Michael Nethavhani of the South African Weather Services in Bloemfontein.
Nethavhani says this week’s rain does not bring much relief regarding the drought and low dam levels, however, from next week Tuesday 19 November, more thunderstorms and showers are expected.
Rainfall is expected in the eastern and northern parts of the Free State, as well as North West, with 60% chances of isolated showers and thundershowers later this week.
The Northern Cape and central parts of the Free State, including Bloemfontein, as well as Vryburg in the North West, can expect little rain with a 30% chance of isolated showers and thundershowers this week.
He further says a minor increase in dam levels will be seen in the eastern Free State.
