Racism investigation against FS educators still ongoing


A special task team appointed by the Free State Education Department to investigate allegations of racism by three educators has not completed its internal investigation yet.

Education spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says the team has not completed interviewing all relevant parties at three schools therefore the department has not released the final report.
Ndaba says the department will conduct its investigation thoroughly.

The investigation is against the principals of Dr. Viljoen Combined School in Bloemfontein, Francois Schoon, and Christiaan de Wet’s, Charles Liversage, as well as a life orientation teacher at St. Helena Primary School in Welkom, Trudy Erasmus, who’s suspension over allegations of racism, was lifted last month.
The department however indicated that it will continue with an internal investigation.
