The Free State Provincial Treasury is inviting citizens to voice their suggestions on the budget allocation ahead of the upcoming Free State Provincial Budget Speech that will be tabled on 16 March 2023.

According to the spokesperson of the Free State Provincial Treasury, Tshidiso Mohokoane, the budget allocation always aims to strike a balance between competing provincial spending priorities and limited resources.

“It is in this context that the Treasury invites citizens to share their suggestions on the Budget on topics such as the municipal finances, government spending priorities, and what these should be, addressing a large budget deficit, stabilising public entities in the province, managing job creation and unemployment, tax revenues and debt sustainability,” said Mohokoane.
