Project revive Arthur Nathan in full swing

The Bloemfontein Neighbourhood Association Group has made an urgent call to local businesses and residents to support continuous efforts to revive the Arthur Nathan Swimming Pool.

Founder of the organization, Anneke Anker, said they are grateful to have received R700.00 in contributions so far.

“We have already begun cleaning and maintaining the site weekly, working alongside Mangaung Metro, Municipal Law Enforcement, SAPS and local volunteers. But to continue this work, we urgently need support,” she added.

Anker and the team are currently prioritising cleaning and clearing the grounds, preventing vandalism and illegal dumping and protecting the site with patrols and security.

“We have a vision: to protect what remains, restore its beauty, and make it a safe, accessible space for the community. The total restoration project will cost approximately R65 million, but we need to start small—by maintaining and securing the site now.”
To achieve this, they require a minimum of R5 000 per month for cleaning and maintenance and five solar-powered security cameras at R35 000 each, with monthly monitoring of R5 000.
