Prof. Corlia Janse van Vuuren, the Head of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS), was appointed as the faculty’s Vice-Dean for Teaching and Learning, starting earlier this month.

“With the introduction of Vision 130, new opportunities are emerging,” said Prof. Janse van Vuuren. “I am looking forward to embracing the future with enthusiasm in my current role as the Head of the School, but also within my additional role of Vice-Dean for Teaching and Learning”.

Prof. Janse van Vuuren took up her new role on 1 September and has shared her vision focusing on embedding data-driven decision-making in teaching and learning within the faculty, as well as to support the review of modules with a focus on producing ‘fit-for-purpose’ graduates for the modern, digital healthcare environment. On a postgraduate teaching and learning level, she aims to find integrated postgraduate and research engagements to support the faculty in reaching the goals of the university’s Vision 130.

According to Prof. Janse van Vuuren, she is most excited to continue learning with and from colleagues and hopes that everyone collectively reaches the future they are envisaging.
