Bloemfontein – Nico Pretorius, the groundsman Chevrolet Park, is up for the Cricket South Africa Groundsman of the Year Award.
The former Free State fast bowler is one of three people nominated for the award in acknowledgement of the long hours in the sun.
The other two nominees for the award are Rupert Bailey of Boland and Wilson Ngobese of the Dolphins.
Speaking to OFM Sport regarding the nomination, Pretorius said he believes Bailey may be the frontrunner for the honours.
The winner will be announced on Wednesday, June 4, at the annual CSA Awards Banquet at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
