Potential health hazard destroyed in Wesselsbron

REFILWE MEKOA

A sewerage spillage that was a potential health hazard for the Wesselsbron community is thing of the past, says Free State Spokesperson Mondli Mvambi.

He says they have fixed the connecting pipes that were joining the sewerage from the residential areas into the main sewerage line. Mvambi was speaking at the launch of Operation Hlasela Programme in Nala Local Municipality this afternoon. He says there were no proper pipe connections installed for the main sewerage and it caused the spillage. Mvambi says Premier Ace Magashule and his entourage of MEC’s and HOD’s embarked on other activities.

“We paved access of 20km of roads in the township which made the people of that area proud of the work that the government is doing for them. The aim of the visit is service delivery monitor because these issues are reported to the Premier. He decided to spend the whole day doing service delivery and ensure that systems are in place everything is in order,” he says.

Mvambi says they needed to ensure Nala is back on track. The municipality was once caught up in allegations of fraud and corruption which the National Treasury stopped its funding for the municipality.
