Police rid streets of dangerous weapons

The Parkweg police vow to get rid of people with dangerous weapons in the streets of Bloemfontein with the view to eradicate the increasing incidents of street robberies in which people are been robbed of the properties.

Members of various police units including Community Service Centre and Crime Prevention took to the streets and conducted an intensified Stop and Search operations at identified hotspots around the City Centre during the past week.

About 23 knives were confiscated and 23 people arrested on charges of been in possession of dangerous.

Seven of the arrested suspects had already appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate`s Court last week while others are expected to appear this week.
