Police recover school computers and apprehend five suspects

Selosesha Crime Intelligence (CI) and Selosesha K-9 Unit members managed to recover school computers in the early hours of Tuesday morning after acting on information received and in the process managed to apprehend five suspects for possession of suspected stolen property.

On Monday 27 February 2017 Selosesha Crime Intelligence members received information about the whereabouts of computers that were allegedly stolen at Mokitlane Primary School in Thaba Nchu.

An intelligence driven operation was conducted by Selosesha CI and Selosesha K-9 in the early hours of Tuesday morning the 28 February 2017 and upon searching at the given address they managed to recover three Acer monitors, one Pixma printer, one mouse, one keyboard, one internal hard drive and three Acer computers valued at R 15 000,00.

A toy gun that is suspected to have been used in criminal activities was also confiscated.  Five suspects aged between 22 and 34 were apprehended for possession of suspected stolen property.

The apprehended suspects may be linked to a business burglary case at Mokitlane Primary School that was committed this month.  The suspects are expected to appear before Thaba Nchu Magistrates’ Court soon.

Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Lebeoana Tsumane applauded the two units for working together and recovering stolen computers and apprehending the five suspects.
