Rethabile Velelo

Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) at the Kagisanong Police Station in Mangaung are looking for 17-year-old Rethabile Velelo. This after she has been reported missing.

According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, the grade 11 learner from Tsoseletso Secondary School left home yesterday and went on a date to Loch Logan Waterfront Mall.

“She met up with her boyfriend and had lunch and left the mall at about 17:40,” said Makhele.

According to her boyfriend, he offered to take her home after the date but Velelo refused and opted to take a taxi back home. They then walked to the Grasland taxi rank where the boyfriend boarded a taxi.

Later Velelo sent him a text to thank him for the great day they had together. He later received another message from her where she informed him that someone had injected her with an unknown substance.

“In her message she indicated that she could hear the sound of a truck engine,” said Makhele.

Velelo was last seen wearing a black skirt with a white shirt. She is brown skinned with long black hair.
