August is Women’s Month where women around the world should support each other, care for one another and share their experiences and successes in life. Welkom Cluster Women’s Network members took it upon themselves to start this month by celebrating “Womanhood” in Wesselsbron.

On the 1st August 2013 women came from different Cluster Stations which is, Welkom, Wesselsbron, Odendaalsrus, Allanridge and Bothaville to the event that was held at Itokisetseng School in Wesselsbron farm.

The purpose of the project was to give moral support to children at a farm schools, and that they are also loved and appreciated by the women in blue, especially during this month. Love Life personnel from Bothaville were also invited to the event. They taught learners about teenage pregnancy and how to behave as a woman.

Welkom Cluster Women’s Network Champion Colonel Mathibello Coobi encouraged learners to study hard and be educated, as education is the key to success in life and respect themselves as young women.

At the end of the project, sanitary towels were distributed to learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12. Colonel Coobi thanked everyone who made this day a success and contributions that were made by Women from different Cluster stations.
