Police have arrested the wanted suspect, Mamokete Jeminah Koloti, at her hiding place in Lourier Park. The 49-year-old female was wanted for kidnapping, robbery, and extortion.
According to police spokesperson Lt. Col. Thabo Covane, a task team led by Captain David Ramasoala and Captain Kelaotswe Lebodi arrested Koloti during the early hours of Sunday 25 August. “A warrant of arrest was issued for the female (49) who was on the run after a case of kidnapping and robbery was opened at the Kagisanong Police Station,” he said.
Koloti was reported to police after allegedly kidnapping and robbing a male victim (50) on Thursday 20 June. “They took him to an unknown location in Bloemspruit, Phase 6, where they extorted money from his accounts,” stated Covane.
The suspect will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 27 August.
The District Commissioner of Mangaung Metro, Major-General Arthur Peter Adams, has since advised members of the public to not publicise financial gains. This includes pension pay-outs, Road Accident Fund claims, or lottery wins, as criminals might target them.
