Police are looking for murder suspect(s) in Zastron


Members of the South African Police Services (SAPS) is seeking the assistance of the Zastron community with information that may lead to the arrest of suspect(s) who were involved in a robbery on 24 November 2020.

The incident took place at about 21:20 and left one dead as an Ethiopian shopkeeper was fatally shot by an unknown assailant while he was closing the security gates at his business. Community members informed members of the police about the incident after they heard a gunshot.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thandi Mbambo said that the 34-year-old shopkeeper was found lying in a pool of blood with a bullet wound in the head and right arm. He was declared dead on the scene by officials.

“It is alleged that a cellular phone and undisclosed amount of money was stolen by the suspect(s) and no arrests have been made,” said Mbambo.
