The Toyota Cheetahs loose-forward, Junior Pokomela, will be hoping for good news from the specialist in the coming days.

The former Junior Springbok has been out of action for quite some time now with a wrist injury, however, it seems that he may be back in action soon.

Pokomela told Bloemfontein Courant that his rehabilitation and recovery has gone well, and he is waiting for the green light from the specialist in order to resume with team training.

“I’m feeling great and my recovery is going very well. I’m just waiting for feedback from the specialist as a report on my progress was sent to him last week, but he’s on leave.

“I just need the go-ahead from him then I will be able to give you a timeframe of when I will be ready.”

Pokomela took over the captaincy of the Cheetahs after round two of the Super Rugby Unlocked series, due to Ruan Pienaar’s knee injury. – MORGAN PIEK
