Pits Paints Bloemfontein recently had the opportunity to host the one and only Dulux dogs. Family man Dre (right) can be seen posing with his son Jaun-Dre (left) and his daughter Chenelle (middle)

The opening of Pits Paints Bloemfontein was not only because of a dream but came after the decision to assist those individuals who have lost their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic. Owner Andries Petrus Smit, better known as Dré, started his journey in the industry straight after completing his school career. The experienced businessman has an impressive track record in the paint industry and his special love for Dulux paint accompanies his belief that the Dulux brand is the best on the market.

“We are a Dulux preferred stockist where you can also get good advice from the best, seeing that we have a lot of knowledge in paint and waterproofing products. We also offer the best prices. Our business is about our customers, the best advice, and service. We make a point of being friendly and going out of our way to keep our customers happy,” Dré says.

The Smit family moved to Bloemfontein about five, months ago to start their new venture. At the back, from the left are Cindy, Dre, Jaun-Dre. In front are Chenelle and Jessica Smit

Apart from being the profound businessman that he is, Dré is also known as a family man and runs his business with the support of his family. He shares with Bloemfontein Courant that his wife is his pillar of strength in their loving family while his 21-year-old son, Jaun-Dré does his part by managing Pits Paints. His 16-year-old daughter also contributes to the business as she helps with admin when not busy studying.

The Smit family has been in the City of Roses for about five months now and Dré says the family is looking forward to their time in the city where they hope to not only share their knowledge but to also learn a lot.
