Ruby Red Model Development Programme will be hosting the Pink Lily Excellence Awards for Young Women, which is a platform where all hard working women who are continuing to change the landscape of the social business sector in different disciplines, are honoured for their work.
The awards are centred on promoting and lobbying for the interests of young women in the Free State province and to ensure the critical role played by women is highlighted in order to inspire other young women and to ensure that the contribution of young women is recognised in the society, business and social space in the Free State.
Candidates of the awards are women from across the province, aged from 16 to 40. These women have a proven track record community and social development in communities.
Busisiwe Ntsele, founder and chairperson of the Ruby Red Model Development Programme, said she started the programme a year ago after realising the challenges faced by young women, especially those from the rural areas and the townships.
“Indeed it is an honour to present this programme with hope that it will highlight the work of young women. I have thought hard about these awards after the success of other programmes I had composed and led, such as the Free State Youth Entrepreneurship Awards (FSYEA) for the Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry Free State.”
“I know that, based on the immaculate work that is being done by women in the province but not recognised, these awards will be a formal programme that will ensure those noble deeds of kindness are in the spotlight and will inspire other young women to work hard and be prominent people in the community. We are hoping to draw credible partners through this programme who will invest in the future of women who are committing their lives on daily basis to inspire us despite challenges facing women,” said Ntsele.
The adjudicators for the awards are Busi Ntsele; Ruby Red Model Development Programme, Head of Marketing and Sales, Maryna Roux and Ruby Red Model Development Programme and Operations Manager, Gleo Booysen.
The award ceremony will be taking place at MTP Hall in Hamilton, Bloemfontein on 28 March 2020, from 18:00 until 22:00. Tickets are available at Pacofs and Gig Culture.
