Phakisa 200 Endurance Race to be held this weekend


This coming Saturday, the Free State Gambling Liquor and Tourism Authority will be hosting the Phakisa 200 Endurance Race, in partnership with Extreme Festival at the Phakisa Freeway at 10:00.

According to a statement released by Free State Gambling Liquor and Tourism Authority, the event combines all aspects of motoring in one fun-filled festival. The race day will feature Mobil1 V8 Sport, Hankook Formula Vee, Bridgestone Challenge, Bridgestone Superbikes, MotorMart VW Challenge, Redsquare Kawasaki ZX10 and many more.

The Phakisa Freeway has been known for hosting events such as the South African motorcycle Grand Prix of the MotoGP championship since 1999.  It has a capacity of 60,000 spectators and the track has a 4.24 km road course and a 2.4-kilometre oval course. The facility is of international standard.

Phakisa 200 Endurance Race is for those whose hearts pump fuel instead of blood. People are invited to come and watch as racing cars battle it out for top honors.
