Duane Petrus – Severe rain storms last night have caused some damage to the municipal power supply systems in Parys, leaving numerous residents without electricity.
Ngwathe Local Municipality spokesperson, Steve Nale, says the storm damaged electric poles and cables, as well as transformers.
He says they are attending to one complaint after the other, and have so far attended to six complaints since this morning.
Nale added that only certain streets and household were affected by the uncontrollable rains.
He could not say when all electricity would be restored to those affected, but added that they are giving the complaints urgent attention.
