Residents of the Mangaung Metro are to experience a possible water interruption today, 14 October. Restoration time is expected to take 19 hours.
This is according to the Mangaung Metro Municipality that issued a statement to inform residents from various areas within the city that the cause of the possible interuption on the Bloemwater Vaal Central mainline is due to Eskom poles that “were damaged during a veldfire”.
Affected poles supply electricity to Welbedacht water treatment plant and adjacent areas.
“Eskom has assured the City that it is working around the clock to resolve the challenge at the plant,” the statement read.
